PRESCOTT, Ariz., Oct. 2, 2003 - Wulfsberg
Electronics and Chelton (Booth No. 4159) will unveil new space-saving
navigation, communication and identification products, the Chelton FliteLine
system, at the National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA) convention
in Orlando, Fla., Oct. 7-9.
Especially noteworthy are the newly combined Nav and Comm control/display
functions. These FliteLine controls, in a dual Nav/Comm installation,
occupy 50 percent less panel space - ideal for RVSM compliance - with
no compromise in capability. All controls feature full-color displays
that are bright and easy to read. Other benefits include ease of installation,
with no new wiring required.
"Our newest product offering is ideal for the business aircraft operator
who wants to optimize panel space and minimize installation downtime,"
said Walter Crawford, vice president of marketing and sales for Wulfsberg.
"It's a great option for a range of operators who want an affordable
and capable system that is virtually plug and play."
FliteLine Control Display units are interchangeable with Bendix, AlliedSignal,
and Chelton Series III Control Displays. The units also support
the Collins-Gables 2 out of 5 interface.
In addition to the controls, new remote-mounted equipment will be introduced
next year and promises even more dramatic space- and weight-saving benefits,
Crawford said.
The Chelton FliteLine system can be configured with VHF Comm (8.33 or
25 kHz channeling, 118-152 MHz), VOR, ILS, Marker Beacon, DME, Mode S
Transponder, ADF, standard or NVG-compatible discrete color LCD controls,
and a Radio Management Unit. The system includes both ARINC 429 digital
interfaces as well as conventional analog interfaces to support new or
retrofit installations.
